This course addresses the provision of psychosocial care after a diagnosis of breast cancer including the impact of the diagnosis and treatment on a woman and her family.
Following participation in this session, a participant will be able to:
- Understand the impact of a diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer on a woman and her family
- Recognise the steps to manage a person's distress following the diagnosis and treatment
- Differentiate depression from adjustment disorder
- Describe effective communication with a woman and her family including breaking bad news
